Sıfatlar 3 farklı şekilde en ve daha yapılmaktadır.
1) Grup :
Adjectives wit one syllable (Tek heceli sıfatlar)
Ağızdan bir defada çıkması gereken sıfatlardır. Bunları “daha”
yapmak için sonuna “-er” eklemek yeterlidir. Bunları “en” yapmak için
başına “the” sonunada “-est” eklemek yeterlidir.

2) Grup : Adjectives ending in “-y” (son harfi “–y”
ile biten sıfatlar)
Son harfi –y harfi ile biten sıfatlardır. Bunları “daha”
yapmak için son harfteki “–y” silinir ve “-ier” eki getirilir. Bunları “en”
yapmak için başına “the” son harfteki “-y” silinir ve “-iest” getirilir.

3) Grup : Adjectives with 2 or more syllables (2 ve
daha fazla heceliler)
İki yada daha fazla heceye sahip sıfatlardır. Bunları “daha”
yapmak için önüne “more” getirilir. Bunları “en” yapmak için önlerine
“the” getirilir ve daha sonra “most” getirilir.

4. Grup : Ireregular adjectives (düzensiz sıfatlar)
Bunlar düzensiz sıfatlardır. Ezberlemek şarttır.

(Newyork Chicago ‘dan daha heyecan verici.)

(Newyork dünyada en heyecan verici şehirdir)
EX:
Import (ihracat) is more important than export (ithalat)
(ihracat ithalattan daha önemlidir.)
Import is the most important
(ihracat en önemlidir.)
EX:
İstanbul is more expensive than İzmir
(İstanbul İzmir’den
daha pahalıdır.)
İstanbul is the most expensive city in Turkey
(İstanbul Türkiyedeki en pahalı şehirdir.
EX:

(İngilizcem tarihimden daha iyidir.)

(İngilizce konuşmam en iyidir)
EX:
My homework is worse than your home work.
(benim ev ödevim seninkinden daha kötü)
My home work is the worst in the class
(benim ev ödevim sınıftaki en kötü ev ödevidir)
EX:
My home is further than my friends’ home
(benim evim arkadaşlarımın evinden daha uzaktır.)
My home is the furthest among us.(bizim aramızda)
(bizim aramızda benim evim en uzaktır.)
